While the book’s description of the Louisville Flag is not 100% accurate, and the image itself is a little off, it is exciting to see that it made the cover.

On November 19th Metro Hall was officially re-opened to the public. This beautiful Louisville building has had its Jefferson St entrance closeed since 2001. Two new displays show a “Then and Now” remdition of the Mayor’s office. The older display has a portrait of Louisville’s first Mayor and Brand Louisville was happy to donate an Old Louisville City Flag for the display that sists opposite the American Flag.

Happy Veterans Day! Take a moment to thank a brave soldier today for the freedom we enjoy every day!

This flag was found near Bowman Field and sent to us to try to figure out why the background appears red. Although we certainly do not know for sure, we assume it use to be navy blue and over the years was “stained” red by exposure to the sun. Anyone with further thoughts please post a comment.

Thank you for the picture, Micheal J. Book / 1SG, HHC / 100th Division (OS)
